Castillo San Miguel
One to write home about is the Mediaeval night at Castillo San Miguel. As soon as you enter the mighty Canarian stone castle, the clock is rolled back to Mediaeval times as the Count and Countess welcome you to the Tournament Hall for a spot of Knight pageantry and jousting accompanied by a generous banquet washed down with plenty of wine.

Golf
Given the extraordinary climate, it’s little wonder that Tenerife is an Island of fairways and greens. Royal Park Albatros is conveniently sandwiched between two championship standard golf courses – 18-hole Atlantic-facing Amarilla Golf and 27-hole Golf del Sur designed by duo Gancedo and Piñero. The former has a ‘no handicap required’ nine-hole pitch and putt whilst del Sur also has minigolf to test the club control of the little’uns.

Loro Parque
With the only whale show in Europe (the whales have been generously delivered from SeaWorld Florida) Loro Parque is a must-visit. The whole family will be mesmerized by the sea lion, dolphin, parrot and orca shows whilst the park’s latest attraction - Katandra Treetops – introduces you to the jungle and birds of Australia. Ask at reception for details.

Siam Park
Billed as Europe’s largest waterpark, Siam Park is a tropical oasis styled with the Kingdom of Thailand firmly in mind. With rides named The Dragon, Tower of Powerand the Mekong Rapids, be assured that the adrenalin will rush although there’s a private white sandy beach and plenty of themed eateries to calm the pulse and recharge the batteries.

Hermano Pedro’s Cave
Tenerife’s only Saint, Hermano (Brother) Pedro, has his very own cave tucked away in a ravine close to the Island’s Airport. Celebrated for his 17th century work amongst the destitute souls and underprivileged children of Guatemala City, Hermano Pedro was canonized by Pope John Paul II in Guatemala City in 2002 calling him an outstanding example of Christian mercy. Ask at reception for details on how to visit.

Leaving from the marina, the submarine safari is a popular attraction with visitors plunging to the seabed to view fish, turtles and underwater flora from air-conditioned comfort.
